The New York Daily News broke the news that Professor X is going to be killed in Avengers vs. X-Men #11, on sale TODAY!
As some have predicted, Charles Xavier ends up dead at the hands of Cyclops.
“I got a little teary-eyed when we were scoping out the moment in the room with the series’ writers and editors,” says Marvel Editor in Chief Axel Alonso. “He needed to be the casualty in this story. There’s no more oh-sh– moment that you can bring than having a son killing his father.”
This certainly could have implications following AVX and going into the upcoming Marvel NOW! renumberings, but knowing that death is a revolving door in the Marvel (and DC) Universe, how long before we see Professor X: Rebirth?

I’ve lost track. How many times has Professor Xavier died now? Need a score card.
what the HELL!!
You put the spoiler in your headline? You couldn’t bleep it or something…
extremely lame.
What’s the name of the site again?
I know it’s the name of the site, but putting a spoiler in the post title on the morning that the comic is released? I follow/like you guys on Twitter and Facebook and I literally got angry when that came through my feeds. I’m only an hour and a half from my weekly trip to the store and now it’s been “spoiled”. If the title is “X dies in X”, then I can choose to spoil myself if I want to. If it’s in the title, I don’t have the choice.
Again, Sorry if this upset you, the title was changed although late…
This makes me feel a big load of “meh”. I am so glad I don’t buy Marvel anymore.
What is Xavier’s death’s up to now? Two or Three?
He’ll be back, there can be no X-men without Professor X.
Hmm… on a complete side note I wonder where he stashed the Mind Gem? His seat at the illuminati table is now vacant
AVX is still dragging on?
*groan*
