Here are some of the highlights from Magic: The Gathering’s Panel at Comic-Con, mostly having to do with the highly anticipated Return to Ravnica.
From Mark Rosewater’s Twitter ( @maro254 ):
All ten guilds are returning in the Return to Ravnica block. Each guild will get a new keyword. No old guild keywords are coming back.
Return to Ravnica will be a large set coming out this fall. It will feature 5 guilds (Azorius, Rakdos, Selesnya, Izzet & Golgari).
Gatecrash is the name of the 2013 winter set. It too will be a large set with 5 guilds (Dimir, Gruul, Orzhov, Boros & Simic).
How draft will work. Fall – RTR, RTR, RTR. Winter – GTC, GTC, GTC. Spring – “Sinker”, GTC, RTR. RTR = Return to Ravnica; GTC = Gatecrash.
Return to Ravnica will have 2 planeswalkers, one of which is Jace. Gatecrash will also have 2 planeswalkers, one of which is Gideon.
RTR & GTC will each have 5 guild leaders, two-color mythic rare legendary creatures.
I’m certainly surprised that no Keywords are coming back. What do you think?

very very interesting, should make for interesting play
I wonder if the guilds will still have the same flavor and ability focus or if they choose different aspects of the color pairs to build around. Like Golgari dealing with the graveyard. “Sinker” seems like it will be a small set, maybe with a fifth planeswalker.
