Image Comics just released the fifth issue of Peter Panzerfaust on Wednesday, but the series has impressed enough people that the rights to a television series have been picked up. There are even talks of a double dose of the adaptation.
Peter Panzerfaust is a re-imagining of the Peter Pan story set in Nazi-occupied France, so it is fitting that the show be picked up by BBC. The announcement came from an Image panel today that QT Digital and BBC Worldwide have plans to create a voiced motion comic first with plans to turn it into a live action show following. I’m not completely sold on the idea of a motion comic on the television screen, but the idea of a live action series version of Peter Panzerfaust has me excited.
