    MCM EXPO’12: Convention returns to Manchester

    The North West’s festival of pop culture is back on 21 July, with Manchester Central once again playing host to the MCM Expo Manchester Comic Con!

    Bringing all the magic of London’s famous MCM Expo to Manchester, the show will feature special guests from the worlds of TV, anime and sport; top games publishers; art and costume competitions and the awesome artists of our Comic Village …not to mention a host of retailers selling everything from sweets to sci-fi collectables. Here’s a taste of what’ll be happening:

    • TV, Movie & Sports Talent – Special guests already confirmed include Star Wars, Harry Potter and Life’s Too Short star Warwick Davis and cast from the award-winning Young Dracula. Meanwhile, footie fans will get to meet famed former England goalie Peter Shilton and Manchester City greats Mike Summerbee, Tony Book and Colin Bell!

    • Great Games – Manchester Comic Con will feature top games publishers, with THQ previewing much-anticipated action adventure Darksiders II and Namco Bandai letting visitors get hands-on with new JRPG Tales of Graces F. Meanwhile, our Dance Dance Revolution zone will give you the chance to show off your dancing skills with Konami’s ever-popular rhythm game.

    • Comic Artists – MCM Expo’s famous Comic Village comes to Manchester to showcase the work of leading comic creators, including Lee Bradley, Antony Johnston and John McCrea. Visitors will also get the chance to show their own artistic ability, with competitions running throughout the day.

    • Anime, Manga & Cosplay – Top anime voice artist Vic Mignogna will meeting fans, anime distributor Manga UK will be hosting an on-stage panel and there’ll be colourful costumes a-plenty at our Cosplay Masquerade.

    And last but not least, KIDS GO FREE! To make MCM Expo Manchester Comic Con an even better day out for the whole family, we’re offering free entry for children aged 10 and under if accompanied by a full paying adult, up to a maximum of two children per paying adult.
