Press Release
Plume was a well received addition to the web comic community last year, rocketing to a readership of tens of thousands in a short time, and it’s now adding print and digital retail distribution through Devil’s Due Entertainment.
Plume is a Wild West adventure with a supernatural twist, centering around Vesper Grey, the defiant daughter of an eccentric archaeologist, and her ghostly (but handsome) guardian bound to her by a mystical necklace.
The parties are celebrating their announcement with a series of prints and a t-shirt available for sale at San Diego’s Comic-Con International this year, at booth 2229, including a “jam print” featuring Smith’s characters, drawn by her, among other characters from the Devil’s Due brands. While Smith is not able to attend the show, her fans can also get the prints now on Kickstarter: http://kck.st/LB7iUV
Smith will continue to produce the web comic, while Devil’s Due will manage her future crowd funding efforts (which she successfully used in the past to bring Plume to print), film and media licensing, and distribute print editions of the books in comic book stores throughout North America. Devil’s Due Entertainment will also manage digital retail distribution through various outlets on iTunes, Kindle, and various app platforms.
“I instantly fell in love with this comic when I first saw K.Lynn’s online campaign to bring it to print,” said Devil’s Due ringleader Josh Blaylock. “The art, story, and package she’s put together is clever, fun, and easy to understand why now nearly 100,000 people are reading this and I can’t wait to bring it to other media.”
“I have full faith in the partnership between Devil’s Due and Plume,” said Smith. “Josh and his team have such a wonderful vision for the comic book world, bringing together innovative and forward-thinking strategies. Plume, I know, is in good hands.”
