I’m a sucker for really good Calvin and Hobbes art. Chris Giamusso does a bang up job with this piece he recently posted on his website.
This surprised some people, who always assumed Bill Watterson was my primary influence. Watterson WAS influential (how can you escape it?), and I certainly AM a huge fan of him, but he just wasn’t as huge an influence on me as Charles Schulz was. I was always drawing the Peanuts gang when I was a kid. Technically, I drew Calvin once before in his superhero costume battling Doctor Doom. But this is my first out-of-mask Calvin and my first Hobbes.
