Whenever there is a mail episode, my first thought is always “Damn, no game playing!” But then, once they get into it, I always enjoy these just as much. I really like the discussions of the mechanics (the deeper the better for me), and I enjoy hearing talk about other games and how they work.
So I would definitely be up for an Exalted one-shot, similar to Rob’s game in length. It would make for a lovely palate cleanser! I don’t think there’s any need for a strict adherence to D&D or WOTC, mostly because for me the name of the show is Critical Hit and the sub-name is where the D&D comes into it. I doubt there would be much confusion because it can all be handled in the description and the show intro.
Further, it can be used to distinguish what makes Exalted different from D&D, and so part of the focus can always be a comparison of how the rules work between the two. So the episode would end up being D&D focused to an extent.
Definitely looking forward to the next level-up episode. Those are great because, like the mail bag episodes, a big part of the charm is hearing friends interacting and enjoying each other’s company.
Peace and stuff!
I DM via skype and it´s working fine.
I turn the camera from myself to the map, when the players needs to see it.
I don´t need a DM screen and the players can plan “behind my back”.
It could be worse…
Very nice Matthew line, reminds me of Yogi Berra:
“There’s nothing more embarrassing than someone being embarrassed.”
Old RPGA adventure: Temple of Silence.
I don’t remember if it was a curse or just that the whole party had taken religious vows of silence, but the whole game had to be played without speaking.
