Press Release
Alissa Ross, a senior graphic designer at Hermes Press, has been appointed Publicity Director at the company, one of the industry’s leading pop culture art book publishers.
Ross, an artist and graphic designer, has worked on many of the company’s classic strip and comic book reprints over the last two years. She is well versed in mainstream material as well as the indie comic book scene, not to mention Golden, Silver and Bronze Age classics as well.
Ross has been heavily involved in the production of all of Hemres’ Dark Shadows titles and was also the lead designer for the company’s classic reprint of Milton Caniff’s Male Call which was named by The Village Voice as one of 2011’s “Best Comics and Graphic Novels” (The Village Voice, Wednesday, December 14, 2011 by R. C. Baker) http://www.villagevoice.com/2011-12-14/art/2011-s-best-comics-and-graphic-novels/
“I’ve always loved pop culture, whether it’s graphic novels, comic books, or anime,” Ross explains, “so to be telling the public about Hermes Press’ line of classic comic book and strip reprints, OGNs, and pop culture art books is just a natural for me.”
Ross will make her first “official” appearance in her new role at the Pittsburgh Comicon where Hermes Press is the sponsor–so she’ll have her hands full.
