Major Spoilers is a big fan of the web comedy series, The Variants. We enjoyed the heck out of Season Two, but in order for Season Three to become a reality, the creators are headed to Kickstarter to raise the necessary funds.
“We’ve done as much as we can out of pocket,” said series co-creator and writer Ken Lowery. “But to move forward and give this show the production values it needs, we’re going to need a little help.”
The production needs a mere $8,000 to fund the new season, and as with any Kickstarter campaign, those that get in now, will reap the rewards later. Contributors to “The Variants” Kickstarter will be offered incentives for their contributions at various levels including season DVDs, artwork, t-shirts and even a Karaoke party with the cast.
The Kickstarter page already notes that two new characters will join the cast, and the creators announced that the third season would move from a monthly series to a weekly, which is really good news.
