I really enjoy the power sets and fighting toys that Rob configured for the guys. And have I mentioned how much I love hearing Rodrigo as a role player? Well, I do!

    2. J. R. Scherer on March 10, 2012 4:44 pm

I use that earth archon mini for my half-giant (goliath) warden. I dig it.

    3. Matthew Peterson on March 10, 2012 8:47 pm

Wow, I hadn’t realized how chatty I was in this episode. I almost told MYSELF to shut it…

      • Kayla on March 11, 2012 10:57 pm

At least you were amusingly chatty? It’s better than I do some days.

Also, triceratops is the correct term, and I will hear nothing to the contrary.

Is this the first time we’ve seen a player with a projectile weapon (crossbow)?

Good episode, hope everything goes well next time. This story arc seems like it’s going to take a lot more episodes, which was unexpected! Rob’s world is interesting, though, so the Torqueltones can get a well-deserved rest.

      • J. R. Scherer on March 11, 2012 7:13 pm

Randus regularly used a gadget-laden crossbow.

      • Frank Hinz on March 12, 2012 11:15 am

I think it’s the first time we’ve ever seen one of Stephen’s characters have projectile weaponry other than a basic attack (e.g. Seven Owls Wise picking up a chunk of debris to huck it at an enemy). Other than that like J.R. said, Randus has his crossbow with all the cool do-dads on, and I think Torq got some kind of magic throwing hammer with fire properties a while back, but I don’t think he has ever used it in battle.

Hi there I’m nowhere near up to this episode yet in fact I’ve just listened to the end of the second season. So with closed eyes I’ve found my way here to leave you guys a little message. Being so far behind I don’t want to comment too much on what’s happening that I know of but I had to say something for all the hours of entertainment and nail biting you’ve put me through!

Firstly… Thank you so far this has been brilliant I never would have dreamed I would have found something like this so interesting!

Basically I’m a 20….something year old female I’ve been with my partner for 10 years and he used to be into all these D&D games in his younger years and even when we met I think. I am a moderate geek so I always had a bit of curiosity in them, but never thought it would be something that I would ever contemplate as a pass time.
However my boyfriend started listening to your podcasts a few weeks ago and after a few nights of him chuckling to himself while I was trying to sleep I asked him what he was listening to. He said “this awesome D&D podcast the guys are hilarious and it’s a really good adventure lots of “omg whatz gonna happen next” moments” do you want to listen?” In a bid to get to sleep I was like “OK” at least then I know what your laughing about.

Now I’ve been with him for many years and I’ve had similar experiences to this many times and I’ve always just rolled over and fallen asleep while he listens to some “boring twaddle”. However, after about 20mins I was completely and unexpectedly hooked! I made him go back a bit so I knew what was going on and now he’s not allowed to listen to an episode without me and vice versa. I even read all I can just to get my fix when he’s at work and I’m forbidden to listen!

Long story short, hopefully very soon he is going to run a little campaign for me and some friends (again who probably wouldn’t be playing by choice) to try and get me more into it, and who knows what will happen from there. I hope that when our son grows up a bit more, he will also be able to play along with us and this is all down to you guys. You managed to convert me in 20mins after 10yrs of only a mild curiosity! Well done! Keep it up! You guys are amazing. Obviously I am very far behind but catching up fast so I have no idea what is going on in the episode I’m currently posting in but I’m sure whatever has happened it will be great, unexpected and totally awesome!

      And again thank you.
P.S. Is it normal that when I’m going about the daily household chores that I have you guys narrating in my head or have I just listened to you wayyy too much recently lol

      • Gammafighter on March 12, 2012 6:05 pm

If you thought the early seasons were good, consider this: there are dinosaurs in this episode.

        • Nyx on March 13, 2012 2:45 am

          Seriously? I can’t wait!

          • Marrco on March 13, 2012 4:34 am

Awww yes! By the way, your post is very sweet :D. Glad we have more people on board!
Good luck with your D&D session and be prepared, the show gets even more awesome in the third season.
            Enjoy

            • Nyx on March 13, 2012 7:28 am

I’m really looking forward to it gutted about smith though!

    6. Gammafighter on March 13, 2012 1:49 pm

Did someone leave their credit card next to the playing mat? Is that why there’s a blur in all the pictures? lol

      • Stephen Schleicher on March 13, 2012 3:55 pm

It is something that contains sensitive information…

This episode contains the best Matthew-ism yet…

“…and then the damned thing catches fire!”

I resolve to use that quote daily….

Saw this and had to share it. Appro to the current dino game.

Holy cow, it all of a sudden HIT ME this episode that Matthew’s gaming voice sounds JUST LIKE William Shatner. Holy Cow, Matthew, King of the References, has your very RADIO VOICE been a reference / clever nod to the Great Shatner all of this time and I only just now suspected?!?!?!?

Bravo, Matthew, Bravo. Will continue to listen with interest.
