Here’s the first poster promoting John Carter of Mars… though if you look closely, the Disney flick has no mention of the word Mars in it. The movie has had an official name change to simply John Carter – possibly due to the lack of success of the Mars needs Moms flick, which automatically makes anything Mars related something to avoid… except for the candy bar…mmmmm… Mars…
John Carter opens March 09, 2012 and stars Taylor Kitsch as Carter, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Thomas Haden Church, Willem Dafoe, and more.

There is a large M on the poster though…
I thought the X-Men: First Class poster designs were lazy, they have nothing on this one. It looks like they took of Kitsch’s “Friday Night Lights” promo pics, and did like two minutes of Photoshop on it.
I might go see the movie, but this proliforation of Photoshop, and other photomanipulation software has made “Graphic Artists” weak, and lazy. This, is just plain lazy.
Minimalism has its merits.
But this isn’t one of them.
“Yawn”.
What happened to awesome movie posters, anyway? I used to love going to the movie theater, just to see all the posters. Major Spoilers, I would love to see an article on the subject. I’m sure Matthew has some humorously strong opinions to share.
I’d much rather see a poster of Dejah Thoris
Give us Deejah Thoris poster, Disney!
It does mention mars, kind of. There’s a Giant M on the poster.
