not feeling what bendis is doing with moon knight. i’ve understood marc has multiple personas but now bendis is writing him thinking he’s cap, spidey and wolverine, just plane stupid to me. and maleev’s art is nowhere near as good as when he was on daredevil or even spider woman. this character has so much potential under the right creative team. this just doesn’t do it for me. oh, and my guess as to the LA kingpin, the out line at the end of issue two kinda reminds me of count neferia, which would be stupid as that character has a power set strong enough to take on two whole groups of avengers at the same time. and the way moon knight was able to stand toe to toe with hyde was also ludacrest. hyde is strong enough to hold his own with thor and hulk. he lifts 50 tons, even spidey has trouble with him. so, how can moonie hold his own with him. come to think of it bendis did the same with hyde when he showed up in his run on DD. moon knight desearves better.
I bought the first Moon Knight book back when it was part of Marvel’s Epic line of graphic novels. He was never more than a Bat-Man rip-off except with slightly better art. After a while they sort of made him into a Punisher rip-off. So now they are making him a Ninja rip-off? Any reason why I should care? Meh.
Weren’t the Pride the Kingpin of LA before their kids took them down? I don’t remember all the intricacies of the Runaways’ plot but didn’t their parents run LA since the 70’s? I guess there could be a new guy in charge but should he really be called a kingpin after only two or three years?
