PRESS RELEASE
Kyle Roberts, owner of the Oklahoma City-based film company Reckless Abandonment Pictures, directed his latest installment of stop motion short films. This James Bond parody stars some of the top YouTube celebrities; DaneBoe, Brittani Lousie Taylor, and Zack Scott. Local Oklahoma City comedian and actor Lucas Ross also stars in the film.
Battle of the Bonds took Kyle Roberts and his crew 8 months to complete, and consists over 5,000 individual images composted with special effects. “Since it’s all stop motion, you have to move take a picture, move take a picture… I basically had to have 4 or more hours at a time to shoot the project, that would be equivalent to 3 seconds of the film not including all of the special effects.” Said Roberts.
Roberts and his crew wanted to create something that was very action packed. “I wanted to mix special effects with stop motion, and just figured what better way then to do a James Bond parody! I hope this is something fans can enjoy and kind of get their Bond fill until the next blockbuster.” Said Roberts.
The short film was shot primarily on green screen with images of Quartz Mountain in southwest Oklahoma later placed in the background. “I love that area of southwest Oklahoma, I remembered seeing the place with the bridge and thought it was perfect for this film.” Roberts said.
Like every great Bond film, it even has it’s own theme song and intro credits. Stf Bidelspach composed the “Battle of the Bonds” intro theme.
