Press Release
Demons, magicians and high adventure await fantasy and comic fans alike as top author Jonathan Stroud visits the MCM Expo London Comic Con to give us the inside scoop on the series’ stunning adaptation as a graphic novel.
Best-selling author Stroud, whose brilliant BARTIMAEUS TRILOGY has sold over six million copies worldwide, will be hosting a panel on THE AMULET OF SAMARKAND, the first of the series to be converted into a comic book.
Joining him on stage will be co-author Andrew Donkin, who also collaborated on the graphic novel versions of Eoin Colfer’s famous ARTEMIS FOWL series, and acclaimed comic book artist and illustrator Lee Sullivan, whose work includes TRANSFORMERS, JUDGE DREDD and DOCTOR WHO.
Set in an alternative London ruled by demon-summoning wizards, gorgeously-illustrated THE AMULET OF SAMARKAND follows the adventures of five-thousand-year-old djinni Bartimaeus and his human master Nathaniel as they seek vengeance on cruel magician Simon Lovelace by stealing his most powerful possession – the fabled Amulet of Samarkand.
Stroud, Donkin and Sullivan will be hosting the AMULET OF SAMARKAND graphic novel panel, signing autographs and meeting fans on Saturday 28 May, the second day of the action-packed MCM Expo London Comic Con.

This could be (dare I say it) good.
There was always a very cartoonish fell to the Barthimeus triology.
