Press Release
Harry Melling, best known for playing Harry Potter’s bullying, magic-adverse cousin Dudley Dursley, finally gets a chance to wield his wizarding skills in “The Sorcerer’s Shadow,” an all-new episode of MERLIN premiering Friday, March 25 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.
The episode finds Camelot hosting it’s legendary tournament – and the competition has only one rule: there are no rules. As the mythic city fills with terrifying warriors, including King Uther and Prince Arthur, an unlikely competitor arrives on the scene in Gilli (Harry Melling) – who despite his small stature has victory in his sights, and magic at his side. As Gilli begins to realise the full potential of his powers, Merlin finds himself torn. Not only is his new friend putting his own life in danger, but his actions threaten to rip apart the very fabric of Camelot itself. It’s up to Merlin to maintain the delicate balance.
The third season of MERLIN has been peppered with guest performances from the cast of the popular Harry Potter films. In addition to Melling, the third season has seen Miriam Magolyes (Professor Pomona Sprout) play the possessed troll Grunhilda in “The Changling” episode; Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick) embody the mystical Gettir, gatekeeper to the land of the Fisher King in “The Eye of the Phoenix”; and in “Goblin’s Gold,” the voice of the mischievous goblin was provided by Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley). John Hurt, who provides the voice of the Great Dragon on MERLIN, has appeared in three Harry Potter films as Mr. Ollivander.

Man… Looks like the guy dropped a ton of weight! It’s going to be interesting to see how he’s turning out now that he’s shed the Harry Potter cloak. And I haven’t seen Deathly Hallows just yet, because I want to watch both parts together too.
Can’t wait for the new season of Merlin to start up.
He wore a fat suit for the last few Harry Potter’s cuz of the weight he’d dropped – bloody good makeup it was too
