Press Release
Wizards of the Coast has yet another way for Magic: The Gathering players and fans to interact online. A Magic-themed space will launch tomorrow in PlayStation®Home and will offer an opportunity to interact with Wizards of the Coast staff and special celebrity guests from the gaming community. Adorned with dueling holograms, sculptures and a gallery, the Magic Home space is sure to engage Planeswalkers of all skill levels.
“We’re excited to continue bringing Magic: The Gathering to new audiences across the world,” said Worth Wollpert, Director of Magic Digital Games at Wizards of the Coast. “The launch of our Magic-themed PlayStation Home space will allow gamers to interact with our brand like never before.”
PlayStation Home is a virtual 3D social gaming network developed for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system (PS3™ system) on the PlayStation®Network. The Magic-themed home space consists of a modern castle filled with iconic creatures and animations from Magic: The Gathering. Players can launch Duels of the Planeswalkers, explore an art gallery, view leader scoreboards, a movie screen and tackle six mini games that unlock avatar attire.
Wizards’ staff and guests will be mingling in PlayStation Home at 4 p.m. PST on February 10. To join the party, simply select “PlayStation Home” from your internet connected PS3 system. When it starts up, use the Navigator screen to find the Magic: The Gathering Home space under “New” and “Recommended” headers.
