Press Release
Morningside Entertainment has optioned Bluewater Productions “Sinbad: Rogue of Mars” to adapt into an epic action adventure fantasy feature for 2012. A continuation of the Sinbad films that started in 1958 with “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad”, and followed in the 1970’s with “The Golden Voyage of Sinbad” and “Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger”, “Rogue of Mars” is an updated sequel rather than a reboot.
Executive Producer Barry Schneer revealed that Rogue of Mars is the first of a planned new trilogy that will bring this beloved character to a whole new generation while still showing respect to the original fans, “I am thrilled to continue the amazing legacy my uncle, Charles Schneer began with 7th Voyage and bring to the screen the Sinbad movie that he and Ray Harryhausen never got to make.”
In his 4th film adventure, Sinbad and his crew find a magical urn and are soon transported to another planet by a ruthless and vengeful Jinn bent on freeing his race who have been imprisoned for millennia and then laying waste to the ones responsible.
“Sinbad has always been one of more popular titles in our library that also includes “Wrath of the Titans” and “Jason and the Argonauts”, says Darren G. Davis, Publisher of Bluewater Productions. “It certainly lends itself to a big-budget tentpole movie.”
Morningside along with its banking partner, Pablo Antoniazzi, Director of the Brazilian Bank, Estratejia Investimentos, S.A. have co-ventured to structure the financing for this epic film. Recently, the group has tapped Screenwriter and Comic Creator Paul J. Salamoff to write the screenplay for a reported mid six figures. Salamoff is the author of the critically acclaimed comic series “Logan’s Run: Last Day”. He also has a number of films currently in development.
Bluewater Production’s “Sinbad: Rogue of Mars” new Graphic Novel will be available in April 2011. Primarily distributed through traditional retail outlets, the graphic novel will also be available through several online venues including Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.

Sinbad Rogue of Mars sounds like a movie for the ages. A film that will challenge Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, & Lord of the Rings for best box office selling films of all time. Classic Sinbad films are movies that were well made, produced, and directed. Using these same ingredients this should be a sure hit. Look forward to its release.
I loved the original Schneer & Harryhausen stop-motion monster/adventure films. I also remember when the idea for “Sinbad Goes To Mars” was being thrown around after the “Eye of the Tiger.” I wish Barry Schneer and the whole a team at Morningside Entertainment the best of success with this picture, they have some very big shoes to fill.
I am so glad to see that this film is finally coming to the silver screen. Schneer and Harryhausen had always planned this 4th film to follow the trilogy, though I think it was originally called Sinbad Goes To Mars. Can’t give enough credit to Exec. Producer Barry Schneer for finally putting this project together Best of luck!!
Hey, “filmphantik” and “Rob”, you sound like you really follow these Sinbad movies. I thought i was the only one. I agree with you that this new movie has a lot to live up too. We shall see if Schneer & the Morningside Prod. team can deliver.. only time will tell.
I am a huge sci-fi and fantasy film follower. From what I have read on this new movie, it is going to be a huge movie. Movies in space are big sellers. Mars is an ideal place and interesting platform for an entertaining film. I am excited to see what this movie is going to be like.
Here is a epic movie that is going to break box office records. Rogue of Mars. YES! Just sounds right. If the actors chosen are top tier actors, and the directing is also top tier. Watch out, the movie is going to be big! A Rogue in Mars fighting off all types of creatures makes for an exciting movie. I am excited to see what this movie is going to be like.
I’ve known him on and off over the years, overall — I WISH BARRY SCHNEER THE BEST OF LUCK. ANDALE!!!!!!
Are all of you being serious? I might dig this movie, but there have been other Sinbad movies that have tanked. And just because I movie happens to be in space, doesn’t mean it’ll make money. Pluto Nash was in space, so was Pandorum and a multitude of other movies that didn’t do well or only did mediocre. I just think it is unlikely to be a major box office breaker. If it looks good, I’ll be in line to see it though.
