For a while now, BBC and BBC America have been working to get Doctor Who to line up on the two networks. By the end of last season those of us in America were only a week or two behind the UK air date. Perhaps it was the fact that so many of us were getting our Doctor Who fix before BBC America broadcast the show, or perhaps somebody is getting in the holiday spirit, but this year we’re getting The Doctor Who Christmas Special on Christmas Day.
Doctor Who comes to BBC AMERICA this Christmas Day at 9 pm EST with a festive Dickens-inspired adventure, “A Christmas Carol.” Take a sneak peek at the first official trailer.

While I probably won’t get to see it at least til the day after (I don’t have BBC America anymore and will have to wait for a friend to bring the recorded show over), I’m still thrilled to hear this! Don’t get me wrong, I can still watch the Christmas specials any time of the year, but it loses some of the fun holiday feel watching it in, say, April.
Honestly, this makes me look forward to Christmas about as much as the presents and delicious food. Oh, and that good will toward men thing too.
Crap, I have to start being nice to men too?
(Kidding… kinda)
