But if I can level with you folks, the pokemon theme song is one of the coolest theme songs in the history of Saturday Mornings. It’s epic, self-indulgent, and manages to cram the entire shows plot in about a minute and a half (Gotta. catch em ALL!).
This the awesome and extended version too, So we get to hear a whole extra verse! Okay so it sounds like it was written on the spot in the recording studio. Lines like “Every Challenge across the way/with courage I will face” sounds like a something a Disney Star would come up with. But I can forgive that because it leads into that guitar solo and keyboard solo that just KILLS. What’s more, this was written in the late 90’s, so it was a pretty ballsy move to try and channel the spirits of Twisted Sister AND Prince.
Ummm…If they were just going to lip sync the entire thing they didn’t really need the guys pretending to play the instruments. They could have had more pokemon running around instead.
I do feel bad for the Pikachu guy though. Those children sized costumes hurt when they ride up like that. Don’t ask how I know.

Umm… I’m not sure if this is really awesome or really lame.
Ah the theme-song that created a whole generation of OCD over-achievers.
