There is a weird progression in my comic book and collectible habit that concerns the heck out of me. Back in the day, I was more than satisfied with just buying comic books. Then the T-shirts started showing up in my closet, followed by small action figures, and original comic book art. That eventually turned to small statues, which lead to larger statues, which lead to me nabbing a larger than life sized statue of Batman, that stands in the Nerd Room of Doom. For a while I’ve been trying to track down the Gentle Giant Princess Leia Animated Life Size Statue, but the eBays and private auctions have turned up nothing.
From the photos coming out of Comic Con International: San Diego it looks like a vast majority of companies are sporting statues like the Clone Wars group above. All I can say is ME WANT! I know my three-year-old would totally flip out if Anakin, Obi-wan and Ahsoka Tano showed up in his playroom. It’s just too bad these aren’t for sale.
I’m sure if I were in a Lantern Corps, I’d be the leader of the Orange Lanterns.
