The Sorcerer’s Apprentice arrives in theaters on July 14, 2010. The big tie between the name of the live action movie, and Disney’s animation vault is of course the Fantasia sequence that Mickey Mouse made famous. In this behind-the-scenes video, the creators discuss the nature of the connection, and why it is important to make it work in the upcoming movie.

I wonder if the filmmakers realize that the Fantasia sequence was itself based off of the Goethe poem of the same (translated) name from 1797 – Der Zauberlehrling.
