Dynamite Entertainment is collecting past Vampirella stories and offering them up in an archive hardcover for the first time in September.
In September 1969, Vampirella #1 debuted with a stunning cover by the legendary Frank Frazetta – and quickly made publishing history! The writers and artists that contributed during the magazine’s original run included Jose Gonzalez, Archie Goodwin, Doug Moench, Bernie Wrightson, Barry Windsor Smith, Esteban Maroto, Frank Brunner, Mike Ploog, Rudy Nebres, Richard Corben, Pablo Marcos, Wally Wood, and many more! Featuring work by Forest J. Ackerman, Don Glut, Tom Sutton, Neal Adams, Ernie Colon, Billy Graham, Alan Weiss, Jeff Jones, and Frank Frazetta, Volume One collects the first seven terrifying issues of the magazine’s original run, reprinted in its original magazine-sized format, and features the very first Vampirella cover by the immortal Frank Frazetta!
In addition to that, the company is also offering up the Vampirella Masters Series Volume 1: Grant Morrison and Mark Millar, which should get more than a few ears perking up.
Vampirella Masters Series Vol. 1: Grant Morrison & Mark Millar SC contains the collected work of Grant Morrison and Mark Millar’s incredible run on Vampirella. Over a decade ago two of the comic industry’s most prolific writers of today, joined together to craft what some consider Vampirella’s finest run in her long history. Joining these two legendary creators are today’s other top talents such as Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Brian Haberlin, Michael Bair, Kevin Nowlan and more. This edition collects “Ascending Evil” from Vampirella Monthly #1-3, “Holy War” from Vampirella Monthly #4-6, “Blood Red Game” from the Vampirella 25th Anniversary Special and “Cold Day In Hell” from Vampirella Strikes #6. This edition also collects interviews with Morrison/Millar and Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. It all began right here for these creators and now it’s collected for you in this beautiful trade paperback edition featuring a stunning cover by Jae Lee (Dark Tower).
“Vampirella is one of comic’s greatest female icons, and we’re proud to bring her classic and contemporary tales back to print for fans old and new. From the works of legendary creators, to today’s contemporary super stars, we’re proud to have the opportunity to place some of the stories in collected form for the first time. We’re also beginning our “Master Series” with two masters – Grant Morrison and Mark Millar – and will continue with Warren Ellis, James Robinson and will continue with Vampirella’s rich history of fantastic creators.” stated Dynamite President and Publisher Nick Barrucci in a prepared statement.
The books begin arriving in September, and I’m sure they will both be on more than one person’s pull list.

Looks good, love reading the classic Vampi stories. I hope they start a new series though with a good writer and art. Vampirella monthly was great so hopefully it will be similar.
