Guess we’ll be waiting a while longer before we find out who all the contestants are in the upcoming Secret Avengers title from Marvel.
In the meantime, knock yourself out with guesses, but my money is on Emma Frost.

The general consensus seems to be Scarlett Witch, but I never considered Emma….that would actually make a great fit.
I’ll second Emma. I would’ve said Scarlet Witch, but the “up & out” posture doesn’t seem to suit her.
I saw a theory on CBR that suggests Valkyrie, and I really dig that one. Hope they’re right!
Based on the image, Valkyrie was who I thought of right away…

My money’s on the Sentry, after Siege’s revelation that he’s actually a woman.

There seems to be a belt so that suggests it’s not Scarlet Witch. Emma would be cool but I think she might be too obvious.

Witchy Wanda has not exactly been portrayed as stable in the recent past, and so for this image to be her…. Well, there’d need to be a mini/maxi-series describing how she suddenly got control of her life…. That, or the text on these teasers is supposed to be ironic. Wanda is NOT the poster-girl for “Captain of my own Fate”, nor does she have straightened hair (which this silhouette seems to have) and that’s my $0.03 (adjusted for inflation). It is, however, a very Frost-y pose, but I’m sure Emma isn’t the only one proud of her…Um, nevermind.

I’d say if it’s a guy then either they have really fat rounded elbows or the artist is crap. It’s say it’s a woman and I was thinking Scarlet Witch too, but I second wyntermute’s point that she’s a bit out of control and would take more than simply them saying that she’s got it in the bag for it to work. I may be off base, but the fact that she appears to be wearing flats would lead me to believe that it’s probably not Emma Frost either, I just always remember her wearing heeled knee high boots and things like that. Heck, maybe it’s Polaris.

I keep seeing Valkyrie. Which with image one being Beast or maybe Daredevil and image two being Dr.Strange/Nighthawk it would seem that we are getting a Defenders redux
The silhouette of the head says no Scarlet Witch (no pointy headgear) and the cape is too long for Emma, plus she always wears heels or wedges so assuming there are no costume changes for this mystery character I would say it isn’t them.
I think they are cropping these to make it hard to guess. But I’m betting this is a guy, specifically Sentry.

My guess is the new Enchantress that was being controlled by Loki in the Dark Reign: Young Avengers arc.. Post Siege with Loki gone/defeated she’ll be “in control”
Am I the only one who sees Polaris? I know it’s a Longshot(I love mutant puns) but with her coming back to Earth after the War of Kings I think she could be a great addition to any team.
No, I threw out the Polaris guess back on the 11th. It could be, I have always thought that she was very seldom used, but I haven’t been reading any X-Men titles as of late and didn’t buy any of the War of Kings titles either, so I didn’t have a clue what she’s been up to lately.
It seams like a stretch but I see Storm.
If it is Val then why aren’t the boobs pointed; she always wore a metallic breastplate.
