Al Rio knows how to draw sexy women. Sure, they may not be a mirror of real life, but when trying to attract the eye to the cover of a comic book that you want to sell, I would want Al Rio in my corner.
If you missed out on the Al Rio interview, you can check it out here.

I have stated my case against too-perfect looking women with massive bosoms before. That being said, Al does draw some very attractive women. The three women on the bed in the Al Rio interview thread are quite nice.
Everyone draws Black Cat and Mary Jane. No one draws Kitty or Illyana.
@Navarre: Comparing pin-ups of Black Cat and Mary Jane to Kitty and Illyana is like comparing watermelons to apples. ;)
I like his work, I think that the style definetly has a place, and at least Al Rio seems to understand that things need to at least LOOK like they could be in proportion.
Must…avoid…easilly…made…joke…
Yep, definitely watermelons to apples there.
But don’t apple-girls deserve some attention too? *grin*
Clearly, none of the commentors here have ever heard of T-Catt. “No one draws Kitty or Illyana”, indeed…
BTW, if you invoke teh googles on this matter, be aware that we’re talking some rather profound NSFWage.
I guess I wasn’t specific enough. That’s my fault.
I wasn’t saying there’s not some guy out there who does porn illustrations of every female he can think of. I’m just saying that females like Black Cat or Mary Jane are held to be such idols of female beauty while not appreciating the diversity that other female characters represent.
Objectifying all women equally isn’t exactly the end result I was going for. But thanks for the correction.
