    SDCC’09: Boom! Kids announces exclusive Disney hardcovers

    BOOM! Studios revealed today that Comic-Con ‘09 exclusive limited edition hardcover collections of their red hot series THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK, THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS and CARS: THE ROOKIE will be offered for sale at limited signing times throughout the week during Comic-Con International at the BOOM! Studios booth (#2543.) THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK’s Roger Langridge, THE INCREDIBLES’ Mark Waid and CARS’ Alan Porter will be doing group signings of these Comic-Con ’09 Exclusive Hardcovers throughout the week at certain times.

    The Comic-Con ’09 Exclusive Hardcovers of THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK, THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS and CARS: THE ROOKIE will be limited to 250 copies, serially numbered, and contain all four issues of each respective series presented in hardcover for the first time with unique, never-to-be-repeated covers.

    Editions will be first offered for sale during Preview Night, July 22nd only from 6pm to 7pm with fans getting the opportunity to have Langridge, Waid and Porter sign their copies. Any remaining copies will be made available later in the week during signing times at Comic-Con ’09.

    Here is the complete signing schedule:

    • Wednesday, July 22 – Preview Night
      6:00pm – 7:00 – Exclusive Disney Pixar Hardcover signing with Langridge, Waid, Porter
    • Thursday, July 23
      11:00am – 12:00 – Exclusive Disney Pixar Hardcover signing with Langridge, Waid, Porter
    • Friday, July 24
      11:00am – 12:00 – Exclusive Disney Pixar Hardcover signing with Langridge, Waid, Porter
    • Saturday, July 25
      10:00am – 11:00 – Exclusive Disney Pixar Hardcover signing with Langridge, Waid, Porter
    • Sunday, July 26
      11:30am – 12:30 – Exclusive Disney Pixar Hardcover signing with Langridge, Waid, Porter

    All three titles comprise the premiere books of BOOM! Studios recently launched “BOOM! Kids” imprint. BOOM! Kids serves as a child-appropriate home for BOOM!’s kid-friendly publishing content. The company’s new imprint features its own website, www.boom-kids.com. The BOOM! Kid’s imprint debuted with THE INCREDIBLES: FAMILY MATTERS #1, THE MUPPET SHOW COMIC BOOK #1, both released on March 25th, and CARS: THE ROOKIE #1 released April 1st in collector’s shops across North America.

    BOOM! Studios most recently announced mass market distribution deals with Simon and Schuster and HarperCollinsCanada, with Simon & Schuster distributing BOOM! Studios and BOOM! Kids line of graphic novels in the United States and HarperCollinsCanada distributing in Canada.

    The addition of Simon & Schuster and HarperCollinsCanada follows on the heels of BOOM!’s announcement this past March of their BOOM! Kid’s newsstand distribution deal through Kable Distribution Services, Inc., best known amongst comic book fans for distributing Archie Comics throughout North America in the United States and Canada.
