Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group will give fans the ultimate inside track on two landmark releases at Comic-Con International on Saturday, July 25 with a Live Community Screening of Watchmen: Director’s Cut via BD-Live, and a first-look panel for the breakout Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment game, Batman: Arkham Asylum.
The event begins at 8:30 p.m. in Room 6BCF of the San Diego Convention Center.
Watchmen director Zack Snyder, legendary illustrator Dave Gibbons and actor Jackie Earle Haley will discuss the nuances of the film’s Director’s Cut – which streets on July 21, 2009 – in a panel prior starting at 9:00 p.m. As the film rolls at 9:30 p.m., Snyder will host a Live Community Screening – providing a real-time, in-person director’s commentary for Comic-Con attendees, while BD-Live viewers at home will have the ability to follow receive Snyder’s insights via their internet-enabled Blu-ray players.
Audience members at Comic-Con and at home will have the opportunity to ask questions of Snyder during the screening – via computer kiosks within the room, and through their internet connections at home, making for an entirely interactive viewing experience. Home audience members will need to have purchased the Watchmen Director’s Cut Blu-ray edition, and have an internet-enabled Bly-ray player.
The evening’s festivities will open at 8:30 p.m. with a first-look at the highly-anticipated WBIE video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. The panel will be led by the benchmark voices of Batman and the Joker, Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) and Mark Hamill (Star Wars), as well as award-winning writer Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series) and Rocksteady Studios game developer Sefton Hill. Batman: Arkham Asylum is co-published in North America by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Eidos, Inc.
