Doctor Who Gets New Alien Races

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJanuary 15, 20096 Comments1 Min Read

Doctor Who Executive Producer and Head Writer Russell T. Davies to Doctor Who magazine that there will be two new alien races introduced in the Planet of the Dead special.

“After the events of Journey’s End and The Next Doctor I think it’s time to get away from the past and have an adventure with lots of new elements. And lots of fun too!

“The next Special should be a nice antidote to Christmas, with a bit of sunshine if we’re lucky. And with not one but two alien races that you’ve never seen before.”

I finally had the chance to watch the most recent Doctor Who Christmas special, and it was a bit of a downer, so this news has me itching to see new Doctor Who.

as much as i like the daleks and the cybermen, it would be nice to have a season finale without any of them. (i know, we’ll only have 4 specials this year)

oh, and might i add: hurray for torrents!!!

for “New Alien Races” read “Timelords”… Planet of the Dead will either be Gallifrey (hopefully) or a Dr Who Does The Walking Dead pastiche. But think how cool it would be if the show did a real zombie episode (unfortunately the show is so sanitised for Saturday nigh viewing here in Britain it culd b nothing othr than pastiche)

The Master has been dead before, and Gallifreyans have shown a particular disdain for the rules of mortality. Watch the episodes, and all becomes clear…

That was an amazing episode. I miss the R.T.D era of Doctor Who. Stephen Moffat is bringing D.W. down.
