If you’re going to tell a Doctor Who tale set during the Victorian era, steampunk seems to be appropriate. And nothing screams steampunk more than the Cybermen. Check out some spoiler filled shots from the upcoming episode.
Looks really good to me. I just hope we get to see it in the States real soon.

can’t wait for this

What the HECK are those shaggy Cybermen things? Are they from the classic series?
Never seen them before. The original cybermen look pretty silly
I like the Cyber Sheep. Res me of a past life when I would tend the flocks by night and I would keep myself warm by releasing tension….. uh ….working on the Etch- a – sketch, thats right.
Well the current Cybermen are a different, alternate, version to the original Cybermen. I don’t recall them having any shaggy cyberpets. The only “pet” they ever had were Cybermats, a sort of metallic slug/worm that jumped up and injected you with a poison.
They were intced in Tob of the cybermen right? 2nd Dr?
Need to know what the “sheep” are? Check the Wiki page (since they get them sooner than us in the UK) for the episode:

Sounds like the new Doctor might be the Doctor from the alternate Cybemen universe. Either that or interestingly they are being dramatic and instead of having a get togther with a Doctor from the past the current works with one from the future. Which is a rather smart change to the usual.
They really need to give the Daleks and Cybermen a rest. The original series would go years without an appearance. Granted that was partly due to rights issues, but it made their appearances a little more special.
to carl:
i agree with you, but since they are fans favorite, they use it as often as they can. daleks are supposed to be instinct now, i wonder how they’ll bring them back next.
Do Cybermen dream of electric sheep?
Carl: I see no problem with using the Cybermen and Daleks as much as they have. The episodes have been great, and since each time the two villainous groups were featured, their stories were never really wrapped up. (ex. Emergency Temporal Shift!) Seriously, if you don’t love Cybermen and Daleks, you must not be a real Doctor Who fan. That’s like saying, “I love Star Wars, but I’m really tired of seeing Palpatine and Vader as the villains so much.”
Hermit: Daleks may not be extinct. We never actually see Davros die.
P.S. to all: Does no one have spell/grammar check built into their browser??
