Yes true believers, Spider-Man III is upon us and even though the flick did not open in the US first, the movie is breaking box office records left and right raking in $29.2 million in 16 foreign markets.
Their findings revealed that all 16 bows of the third film adaptation of the comic-book superhero beat the openings days of both “Spider-Man 2” ($15.6 million) and the initial “Spider-Man” ($10.6 million), bested the combined gross of both previous films, and that four territories came up with their biggest single days of all time.
This sounds like it is going to be a kick-ass movie, and I can’t wait to see it this weekend!

Is it just me, or does it feel like this movie has already been released, what with all the spoilers, reviews, and special Wizard issues telling me nearly every single plotpoint?
Meh… I’ll wait on this one, simply because I hate crowded theatres more than anything this side of testicular torsion.
I think I’m stoked because the Spider-Man III Nerdtacular event in Utah is sponsored by Major Spoilers, and I want the event to be a great one! That being said, yes it does seem anticlimactic the big day is upon us what with all the spoilers we’ve been dishing out and the fact that teh US of A seems to be the last country to get the film in release. I’m still excited about seeing it, going in with no expectations, other than i will probably be disappointed, and just hoping to have a fun time!
Saturday is a huge day for comic geeks, nerds, fans, and posers as not only do we get Spider-Man III, but we also get Free Comic Book Day AND Planet Comic Con in KC. Too bad I won’t be able to attend any of them on Saturday :( But that is a story for a longer post.
Mmm. I’m going to miss Planet Comic Con as I’m working FCBD, but any Spoilerites who come to the store (Gatekeeper Hobbies, Huntoon & Gage, Topeka! Ask us about our Brother Voodoo back issue specials!) will get a hearty “Howarya?” and the full guarantee: Any comic you buy that gets torn in half, you get to keep both halves! Yay!
I’m sure you will be having a heck of a good time at Gatekeeper on Saturday! The good news is James Deckert will be a special Major Spoilers corespondent for Planet Comic Con, and should have something special for us over the weekend. (I hear he may even drop by Gatekeeper and say hello).
Matt: did you get the emails I sent to you yesterday? Just checking, cause, um, you know, there was some important info in there…
And everyone else – PLEASE click away on the Google Ads every chance you get!
Holy Crap I almost forgot! May 5 is the Cinco de Mayo! So drink some Margaritas before heading to the theatre (yes that’s how I spell it!) and order some nachos at the snack stand to make the event more enjoyable!
