Earlier this week, Dark Horse Comics sent Major Spoilers a teaser image for a big announcement for something to be made at the San Diego Comic Con. Yesterday, Dark Horse sent out a Tweet that read
#houseofnight Fans! Anyone figure this out yet?
A quick look to find out more about the House of Night series lead us to the official HON website.
House of Night is a thrillingly engaging book series that follows 16-year-old Zoey Redbird, who gets “Marked” by a vampyre tracker and begins to undergo the “Change” into an actual vampyre. She has to leave her family in Tulsa and move into the House of Night, a boarding school for other fledglings like her.
It’s within the school’s walls that the heart of the action takes place as Zoey meets new friends, finds love, comes to terms with how her life will be different now and begins to realize her awesome new powers.
Here’s the deal though: Yes, Zoey’s a vampyre now. But she’s still a teenager – with all the humor, angst and confusing feelings any other teenager has.
And interestingly, a key element for the series is a crescent Moon, and the authors of the series are P.C. and Kristin Cast. This leads me to believe at least one of the authors will be present to make an announcement at the panel.
Is Dark Horse set to announce a House of Night series? With Buffy about to start a new season, the one-two bunch of two vampire/vampyre titles at Dark Horse might be just what the publisher needs.

With my little sister reading the House of Night books, and some of her friends interest in them, I think Dark Horse might have a big seller on their hands. Its interesting though how they have a vampire book for the older fans and a vampyre book for the teens.
