Arcana has announced that the out of print tale of The Clockwork Girl is getting the animated film treatment. The 3-D movie features the voices of Carrie Ann Moss, Jeffrey Tambor, Alexa Vega, Jesse McCartney, and Brad Garret.
The story takes place in a whimsical land far, far away where inventors compete to show off their latest trinkets and inventions at the local fair. A mad scientist, determined to win the top prize at the fair, creates a robot Clockwork Girl. Against all odds, she finds love and companionship in Huxley, the amazing mutant circus boy. Despite the threats of their warring families, they begin to explore the world together and discover what it means to be human—to move, to think, and ultimately, to love.
This is a movie that has been in production for a long time, and hopefully it is worth the wait. The story is a bit Romeo and Juliet, but it is very well done. And if you are wondering where you can get a copy of The Clockwork Girl, Arcana tells us that a new paperback version arrives July 12, 2011 – the same date as the movie.

Oh nice. I have this on iPad. Very cinematic comic, lots of 16×9 panels, almost reads like a storyboard. :)
Doesn’t this kinda sound like the movie Igor?
