Anthony Carpenter sent us a quick note letting us know about an upcoming reception and show. Greetings, On Friday, Dec. 1st the Holland Area Arts Council, in Holland, MI, will be hosting the opening reception for a new show featuring Myself, Jack Snider and Scott Rosema, as well as fellow artist Mike Mason. I’m not really interested in posting celebrity gossip, unless it is really good and relates to comics in some way.  Well, horny fan boys have two reasons to rejoice this week.  First it was Britney and K’fed, now Occult Crimes Taskforce’s Rosarrio Dawson has reportedly split with her beau Jason Lewis. Star Magazine is reporting the two went their separate ways on November 3rd. “They’re being very private about why they broke up,” says a source, “but they are for sure broken up.” Their publicist, Meredith O’Sullivan, had “no comment” for Star when asked to confirm the split. Variety has confirmed what we reported on months ago – Terrence Howard will play Tony Stark’s buddy Jim Rhodes in the upcoming Iron Man movie. It’s pretty much accepted that, unless Iron Man turns into a huge bomb in the box office, the franchise and sequel potential is very high. Scott Kurtz, the genius behind PvP, kind of participated in the 24 Hour Comic Book Day.  I say kind of, because he did take a break to go home and sleep before continuing.  In years past, he workd on PvP strips only. So this year, I was up for about 10 hours, went home and slept, then got up and returned to the store to hang out for another 4-5 hours. I didn’t get as much done, but I’m much happier this year for having taken the break. This year he made an attempt at doing a long Batman story. …

Dark Horse received an overwhelming response from retailers, with entries totaling near 1,000!
