Playmates Toys announced they will show off the Michael Jackson Collectibles line at the San Diego Comic-Con.  The deal signed with Bravado, allows the company to bring Jackson’s likeness to the company toy line. “We are delighted to expand our successful line of Michael Jackson collectible memorabilia by working with the innovative team at Playmates Toys,” stated Tom Bennett, Chief Executive Officer of Bravado. “This new line truly celebrates Michael’s unmistakable style and irreplaceable talent. If there is one action figure package I want from SDCC’10, it has got to be the Starro mega-pack that features a bendable Starro (that I hear can fit over your own face for crazy hijinks) and five action figures that pay homage to The Brave and the Bold #28. While this figures themselves are going to rock in only the way that Mattel can serve up, it’s the packaging itself that might have many needing to buy two – one for the figures, the other for the awesome Kevin Conroy recording that is just a button push away.

With the plethora of toy based movies taking H’wood by storm, it only makes sense for the best toy in the universe to make a big screen debut. Warner Bros. has hired Phil Lord and Chris MIller, the duo behind “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, to write and direct the LEGO flick. Since the script is yet to be written the only word on plot that has leaked is the film will mix live action and animation, which sounds an awful lot like what the Smurfs movie is currently doing. via THR

When it comes to action figures, there are a few things I want done really well – excellent points of articulation, great sculpt with lots of detail, and something something scaled to size to fit with the other action figures in the line.  When it comes to Art Asylum’s Juggernaut figure for the Marvel Select line, I think all my expectations are going to be fulfilled. Hold on.  Why do they always say that about the Juggernaut?  I mean, am I wrong or do they not find a way to stop him EVERY TIME?  Seems to me he gets stopped…
