Sanctuary!

No, I’m not mugging the hunchback, but I did have an incredibly fun meeting this afternoon with the producer of Sanctuary, a new web series set to debut next month. If you like Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, then there is a very good chance you’re going to like this new series staring Amanda Tapping from Stargate – SG1. No Green Light for Third Animated Hellboy Movie Yet

Drat!  My TiVo has been acting up lately, locking up at the most inappropriate times.  The most recent lock up failed to record Hellboy: Blood and Iron, the second Hellboy Animated movie.  I was really looking forward to it too.  Guess, I’ll have to wait until it hits on DVD to pick it up. Free Painkiller Jane Stickers

The Painkiller Jane television series premieres this week (April 13) on the Sci Fi channel, and to help kick things off Dynamite Entertainment and Sci Fi are giving away free Painkiller Jane stickers. Painkiller Jane Returns in April

Dynamite Entertainment has sent us the cover images for the upcoming Painkiller Jane #1. The new ongoing series by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti coincides with the Painkiller Jane series coming to the SciFi Channel in April. Even better news is the Painkiller Jane #0 issue, which hits stands the April 13 will only be $.25.

This Just In! Captain America’s Shield is Missing!

Details are sketchy at this time, but a S.H.I.E.L.D. spokesperson has revealed that Captain America’s shield has gone missing. It’s unclear who has taken the shield as no photographic evidence exists, but S.H.I.E.L.D. has issued an artistic rendering of the accused along with this statement. “S.H.I.E.L.D. is following several leads and we are working with the cooperation of New York City authorities to resolve this matter.” Un-named sources have spotted several S.H.I.E.L.D agents in and around television studios owned by Comedy Central. Stan Lee on Heroes

Stan “the Man” Lee will be making a surprise cameo appearance on the February 19th episode of NBC’s Heroes. “Unexpected” has Hiro on a bus trip with Lee behind the wheel. There have been a lot of comparisons with Heroes and X-Men, so having Marvel icon Stan Lee show up seems like a nice nod. via Superhero Hype (link)

Got Sprint? Like Smallville?

Warner Bros, the CW Network, and Sprint have joined forces to create a six part animated mini-series based on characters from the television series Smallville. Premiering on the Sprint TV mobile service, Smallville Legends: The Oliver Queen Chronicles tells the tale of how Oliver Queen became the Green Arrow. The first episode debuted last night (January 18, 2007), and after the Sprint exclusive window closes, fans will be able to view the series on the CW website (www.CWTV.com).
