They call him MISTER Terrific… I’ll admit it, I was never a really big fan of Mister Terrific. Sure he is smart and can probably punch the bad guy in the face real good, but his identity can’t be too secret, ‘cause he has a giant painted T on this face, which probably explains why he is only the third smartest guy on the planet.

If you are looking for the Major Spoilers reviews of comic books from the comic book industry, you’ve found it! The best and the worst comics are reviewed each week.
I haven’t read a Green Lantern title since Kyle Rayner had the ring and Hal Jordan was as dead as Barry Allen and Bucky Barnes put together. Does this re-introduction to Green Lantern have me swearing an oath to read it every month or swearing off comics for good?
Then there was that time the girl in the gold bikini struck a pose… The first major arc of the Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris is complete. Now what is a pretty, pretty, princess to do?
Or – “Mitchell Shelley… A Man Barely Alive.” We often hear about concepts that are “ahead of their time,” like the original run of The Prisoner, or Hendrix guitar riffs at Monterrey Pop. The DC New 52 relaunch has apparently made a cottage industry out of these type of characters (Hawk & Dove, O.M.A.C., Static Shock and others) but this time, they’ve really nailed the one character in their history that MOST DESERVED a second shot. The original run of Resurrection Man feels like a comic from 2004 rather than 1990-whichever, and I for one am glad to see it…
Or – “The Wild, Wild World Of Batwoman!” So, yes. This book has been announced quite a few times, if memory serves, and I was starting to worry that we’d NEVER find out what happened to Batwoman after Bruce Wayne so rudely took back Detective Comics from her last year. But is the New-52-Batwoman the same character we’ve come to know since ’52?’
Everyone who loves super-heroes knows this story: Steve Rogers a 28 year old polio-afflicted young man from Redondo Beach, California is brought into the armed forces by Italian defector Dr. Maria Vasselli to become a Super Soldier. His goal? To defeat the Nazi’s own supersoldier, an Italian mutant known as the Red Skull! Wait, what?
Or – “The Amaze-canny Captain Spiderine…” Moon Knight is sometimes referred to as a poor man’s Batman, but the truth is much more complex: He’s the poor man’s Batman with a GIMMICK! The multiple identities that made him different in the 80’s turned into full-fledged psychoses in the 90’s, and now we’re witness to Moon Knight’s most supreme feat of all… Channeling the personalities of characters whose books sell better than his! Beat THAT, Damian Wayne!
Hawk and Dove are back and in Washington D.C. What’s new about the partnership? What did we keep and what did we lose? Find some answers after the jump.
Or – “Believe It Or Not, Relaunches Are Nothing New…” With the beginnings of the New 52 in stores, internet wags have already sounded the death knell for DC and for comics in general, and there are some who cite restarts/relaunches/reboots and such as the work of Mephisto. The truth, Faithful Spoilerites, is that relaunches have always been the way of the comic book world, dating back to the earliest days of cheap newsprint. Case in point: Captain America – Commie Smasher!
Few other titles in the existence of modern comics can tout the A-list pedigree that Swamp Thing has enjoyed: Alan Moore, Mark Millar, Grant Morrison. Now industry wunderkind Scott Snyder is ready to try his hand at the rebooted creature from the swamp. How does he fare? You know the drill…take the jump for details!
The reset button for Batgirl begins NOW. The original Batgirl is back in action but is she ready to face down her demons? Take the jump and learn more about DC Comics Batgirl #1.
Men of War #1 presents the adventures of Sergeant Rock’s grandson, Corporal Rock in an unnamed, but familiar war zone. Stuff blows up. And ooo, Navy SEALs.
Or – “A Bunch Of Guys Versus… Another Bunch Of Guys.” One of the charges I often hear leveled against Brian Bendis is that tendency to take a random group of characters and throw them together regardless of logic or established characterization. Heck, the New Avengers themselves fit this trope, and now Simon “Wonder Man” Williams has returned with a grudge and an eclectic team of “Revengers” to bring down his former pals…
Batwing #1 introduces the latest addition to the Batfamily, bringing one of Batman, Inc.’s franchisees into the new DCU. But just who is Batwing, really?
