Or – “Forget it Jake, it’s Chinatown” It was two o’clock. The wind outside had died down, and I knew the rain was soon to come. The rain… like some harsh mistress that keeps mocking me; for the coming rain means yet another day the landscapers won’t be able to work on my sorry excuse for a yard. The scent of whiskey still hung heavy in the air, and heavy on my breath, as I opened the tome that told the tale of Sand Saref. Sand Saref – what a dame. Word on the street is Frank Miller’s Spirit movie…

Both Latino Review and Collider.com are reporting the rumor that George Miller may be directing the Justice League of America movie. Miller who directed Happy Feet thinks we’ll see Brandon Routh in Justice League before the sequel to Superman. The next thing I’ve heard is which Superheroes might be in the running for the first big budget team-up movie. They would be Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern. I’ve also heard from sources that the “Justice League” film is more of a priority for WB than the sequel to “Superman,” so don’t be surprised if you…

A couple of weeks ago, Major Spoilers announced Zenescope’s The Living Corpse had been picked up by Shoreline Entertainment to be turned into a motion picture. What’s cool about this? The first issue hasn’t even been released yet. If the film does well, you’ll be scrambling to pick up the issues. However, if you are planning to attend Wizard World Chicago (August 9 – 12), Zenescope will be offering the #1/2 issue at the show for a mere .25 cents. One of the big events at the Marvel booth was the unveiling of the Iron Man Mark 1 Armour. Superhero Hype! has some great shots of the suit including some close-ups that really look good. I am really impressed at the amount of detail the creators put into this suit and can’t wait to see this behemoth in action. via Superhero Hype!

At the Superbad Panel at “the con” Seth Rogen stated the Green Hornet movie he and fellow scribe Evan Goldberg were working on would be an action movie and not a comedy. Be that as it may, with Rogen set to star in the movie, I really wonder how people will take the film seriously. It’s kind of like Jack Black playing Green Lantern. Columbia Pictures is expecting a summer 2009 release for the film.

The Why So Serious website, the viral marketing site that had San Diego Comic-Con attendees running all over the Gas Lamp district following clues as part of The Dark Knight movie promotion, is now redirecting viewers to Rent-a-Clown.com. Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Michael Hague’s graphic novel In the Small to be turned into a motion picture. Story concerns a strange explosion that leaves everything else in the world intact but shrinks all humans to six inches tall. The survivors are forced to transition to a new social order in which man is no longer at the top of the food chain — and is confronted by a new and greater existential threat. The graphic novel is not out yet, but is expected to be published later this year. via Variety

Hot on the heals of the Transformers movie, is the rumor Megan Fox is interested in the role of Cassie Hack in the Hask/Slash movie directed by Todd Lincoln. In every slasher movie, there’s one girl who makes it all the way to the end. She’s the survivor…the last girl. Meet Cassie Hack, the lone survivor of an attack by a vicious slasher called The Lunch Lady. Now Cassie, along with her monstrous partner, Vlad, travel the country, hunting down other slashers before they can leave a trail of blood and terror. Looks like a match made in heaven (so…

Ain’t It Cool News has a very interesting rumor regarding a possible JLA movie. As I was taking the Amtrak Surfliner down to San Diego for the ‘Con yesterday, I happened to look across the aisle and spotted a gentleman reading a script. It was some sort of JUSTICE LEAGUE project. Live or animated, I do not know. I know that Superman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Jon Stewart all appear in the script. Maxwell Lord, OMAC, and someone named Talia (Al Ghul?) all appear. One of the OMACs is referred to as “Beta”, so the story may involve the…

Neil Gaiman made an appearance at the Paramount Panel last night at the San Diego Comic-Con and had this to say. “I’ve been saying since 1991, I’d rather see no ‘Sandman’ movie than a bad ‘Sandman’ movie made. I think the time of a good ‘Sandman’ movie is getting closer. With luck, we’ll see the ‘Death’ movie first ’cause that’s small and cheap and I’m going to direct it. [A ‘Sandman’ movie] needs someone with the passion of a Peter Jackson for ‘Lord of the Rings’ or Sam Raimi on ‘Spider-Man’ to get the film through Warner Bros.” So there…
