Dark Horse Comics has announced it will release merchandise and collectibles based on the upcoming Frank Miller movie adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit. First up is a bust, based on the likeness of Gabriel Macht, who plays the title character for the movie. Dark Horse is following that up with The Spirit Statue, a snow globe, and a journal, so you can write down all your deepest secrets. Over 1000 iconic Hollywood items go up on the auction block August 2 and 3, with one of the more interesting items being the Superboy Tom Welling costume worn by John Haymes Newton in that 1980s television series Tom Welling Superboy. According to the eBay Live Auction site, the costume is expected to go for between $3,000 and $5,000. Dark Horse Deluxe, the merchandising division of Dark Horse comics, has announced two new products. First out of the gate is a pair of bookends based on the Mutts syndicated comic strip.
