Occasionally I’ll see a product that makes me wonder why in the hell the company would slap their brand all over it?  Marvel has been doing some of this crazy stuff for a couple of years with the likes of Hulk cologne, and the likes, but now I’ve discovered that Marvel is branding televisions with the likes of Wolverine, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and the Fantastic Four to name a few. Those crazy Legion of Super-Heroes fans want their day in the Sun, and want DC to cough up some Legion of Super-Heroes rings to go along with the company’s Blackest Night and Brightest Day promotion.  It doesn’t sound like a bad idea as there is a new LoSH book on the way from Paul Levitz.  It should be a pretty big event, and tying a promotional ring into the release would be pretty cool. Those of us who have been around long enough (notice I said AROUND long enough and not ROUND long enough) might already have their own Legion…

I’m not one to wear custom designed footwear, but this pair of Nike Dunk Low is certainly to be a favorite of Hulk fans.  ChrisCo took the idea behind the raging behemoth and applied it to the shoes that feature the green and purple motif done up in such a way that makes these tattered shoes shine. If you want to get your hands on these babies, good luck, as they’re already gone from eBay and the ChrisCo website is a bit difficult to find if you can even order these sneaks. via ChrisCo

This week at the New York Toy Fair, Dark Horse Comics unveiled a Bettie Page statue based on the work of Dave Stevens. Dark Horse called on Dave’s close friend and sometime collaborator Kent Melton, a top sculptor with whom he had always hoped to do a project of this sort. Dark Horse and Melton went over Stevens’s many Bettie Page images, and the result is the most accurate representation of the pair’s many conversations on the subject. “We have enormous respect for both Dave and Bettie, and we felt an obligation to make this piece a home run,” David…

eFX has announced it will be selling a limited edition Darth Vader helmet based on the original concept sketches by Ralph McQuarrie. Affectionately dubbed “McVader” by developers at eFX, the helmet was created from one of those original concept sketches – chosen by McQuarrie – and brought to life by digital sculptor Jay Kushwara exclusively for eFX. “He’s captured the true sinister essence of the Darth Vader that Ralph McQuarrie envisioned in his original sketch,” said Bryan Ono, president of eFX, which also produces limited-edition, collectible replicas inspired by classic Disney movies and by Star Trek. The three piece helmet…
