Be thankful you’re not at the 2010 Toy Fair in New York because you’d probably be so busy, you’d miss out on the latest Justice League figures to join the collection.

Mattel has announced it will release Skeletor’s mistress of magic in April. Evil-Lyn comes complete with staff, wand (with removbale swapable headpiece), Skreeech, bird armor and bird perch! The figure will only be available at the Matty Collector website.  I remember when Masters of the Universe toys were first released, and I watched the cartoon series whenever I could, but I do not remember half of the characters Mattel is pushing out. I guess memory loss comes with getting older. via Matty Collector

Next to the Justice League Unlimited action figures, the DC Universe Classics line (and the build-a-figure series) is on my must buy list.  It’s just too bad our local stores don’t care any of the figures, forcing me to go online to quietly build up my collection.   This spring, Mattel will launch the thirteenth series of the action figure line that includes Blue Beetle, Blue Devil, Wonder Girl, and Negative Man. Gallery after the jump!

And I for one am more than happy to see the JLU line from Mattel continue until I am an old, old man.  What the hell am I talking about?  Mattel announced over the holiday that the Justice League Unlimited toy line will continue in Spring 2010 with new figures available through Target. We have some great singles, 3 packs and 6 packs in store including many more fan demanded character, a return to Apokolips and a few out of the blue surprises we think JLU fans are going to love! Mattel remains very committed to this line. As long…

Oh yes, these will be mine.  Mattel has gone back to the source to come up with a new line based on the vintage MEGO figures from days past. Check out these prototype images. You’ll see they’re not recreations, but updates lovingly based on the old style. In some cases, we’re even improving on iconic features for some of your favorite characters, like a more accurate belt buckle for Green Arrow, or an “s” curl in the hair of Superman. Green Arrow is the first figure out of the gate, and will be released on December 15, 2009.  You’ll have…

The show has been off the air for a couple of years, but that hasn’t stopped Mattel from continuing to crank out action figures based on the series.  The next in line to get the ‘tooned up treatment is none other than the Doom Patrol, and the figures look mighty sweet. Perhaps not as well-known as the Justice League, the Doom Patrol stands ready to defend the world from those who would destroy it, and now, for the first time ever, it’s offered in the fan-favorite JLU style! This 4-pack includes the essential characters Negative Man, Robot Man, Elasti-Girl, and…

Mattel is showing off the battle damaged He-Man variant, that allows players to change the chest plate to reflect any damage the protector of Eternia may suffer. This toy does not feature a spinning tumble, but does include all three chest plates – standard, one smash, and my personal favorite, two smashes! He also comes with his heroic Battle Axe just like in the famous painting of Battle Armor He-Man on top of Battle Cat. (anyone have the art book?) Battle Armor He-Man goes on sale January 15, only at the MattCollector.com website.

Mattel has unveiled a few new shots of the chase variant Deadman action figure from the DC Universe Classics wave 11 collection.  The ghostly figure of Boston Brand has semi-transparent hands and feet that glow in the dark.  If you’re going to scare the crap out of your young one, this figure just might do the trick. Take the jump for the unpackaged figure!

It’s bad enough H’wood is actually making View-Master the movie, now Mattel’s most famous toy, Barbie is getting a feature, too.  Universal Pictures won the rights to the live action treatment, with Laurence Mark, of Jerry Maguire fame, producing the flick. Meanwhile, on Eternia… He-Man got some sad news a couple of weeks ago, when Warner Bros. and Mattel parted ways, but the big galoot has stumbled his way into a new home at Columbia.  Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on which side of the paycheck your are sitting on, all of the previously prepared content has been scrapped.  This means…

Those who were hoping for a better retelling of Mattel’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe franchise in film form are going to have to wait a little longer now that Warner Bros. and Mattel have called it quits in regards to the character. Mattel and WB didn’t see eye to eye over the direction of the project and made a mutual decision to let the option lapse this month. Story revolves around He-Man, a prince who becomes a warrior battling the evil Skeletor for control of his magical homeland. Mattel will more than likely shop the property around,…

We’re dumping a lot of DC Universe action figure news on you today – we probably would have been able to space them apart if Mattel would actually send us an email once in a while (hint, hint).  Anyway, according to the Matty Collector Facebook page, the latest wave of Crisis figures goes on sale today (August 17, 2009) that feature Barry Allen, the Psycho Pirate, Monitor, and Supergirl ready for her closeup.
