I’ve often noted in the past that I attended San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) five or so years back, but that I haven’t been there since. That’s going to change this year!

One of the most important things in the buying of comics appears to be habit. You go to the store on a certain day at a certain time and voila – there are your comics waiting for you! Depending on the store and the time, you may find that NOT the case this Wednesday, July 5!

This past weekend, I was helping behind a vendor’s table at the 2017 Heroes Con, held in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was the 35th year the con has been held!
Last weekend included the debut of the Wonder Woman feature film and, for once, I actually got to go see it, a comics-based movie on its opening days!
Sadly, I think it’s time to give Captain America that same kind of ‘rest’ – at least, until someone can come up with an idea he can flourish under.

This year’s “Christmas in May” for comic book fans is now over, and it was a big success for many of us. Still, I believe some folks don’t quite understand what Free Comic Book Day is all about, so it didn’t work as well in some instances I heard about.
Where has this year gone? I mean, it seems like just last week I was talking about Free Comic Book Day 2016, and now the 2017 event is right on our doorstep!

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve wretched about massive crossover events, particularly in Marvel. I mean, they’ve been dovetailing over each other for years. Guess the House of Ideas finally noticed that’s not quite the big thing it used to be! Marvel is now saying there will be no big events for 18 months after the upcoming Captain America-centric “Secret Empire” concludes.
Every once in a while, a month has a fifth week in it. March was just such a month! What’s a comics company to do when you’re set up on a four-week per month schedule?
