Do we really need another zombie tale set in the Marvel Universe? According to Fred Van Lente, the answer is yes. In the next installment, one of the zombies escapes from zombie world and stumbles into Marvel 616 territory, thus making Marvel Zombies an in continuity title. “Marvel Zombies 3” will focus on a different group of zombies than Kirkman and Phillips’ books. “This is partly because ‘MZ3’ is set in a very specific period of ‘MZ’ continuity,” Van Lente explained. “For fear of giving away too much, I’m going to tell you when, exactly. Now here is a San Diego Comic Con figure exclusive I’m actually excited about. With all the hoopla surrounding the return of the Skrulls – or rather the revealing of the Skrulls that have been around for a long time – Diamond Select Toys has unveiled the Elektra Skrull action figure. In addition to getting Matt Murdock’s girlfriend all glammed up in green paint and funky chin (sorry no Jennifer Garner likeness), the seven-inch figure will also include a variety of martial arts weapons, and interchangeable arms and legs. Best of all the figure is packed with her very own…

These legendary heroes were instrumental in the defeat of the Axis powers in WWII and will appear throughout 2008 in the aptly-titled Avengers/Invaders limited series. I like that there are multiple…

Last week at the Emerald City Comic Con, the organizers and Frazetta Comics put together an auction to benefit Josh Medors’ fight with cancer. The best part about the entire event is it raised over $10,000 for Josh’s medical bills. “The response of the comics community and fans alike has been amazing,” Medors said. “The money raised not only helps out with medical expenses, but it also takes a great weight off my shoulders and helps me focus on what positives I can. It’s been announced at the New York Comic Con and over at the Myspace Comic Books page that Mark Waid will be taking a crack at the web head in Amazing Spider-Man. Says Joe Quesada: That is the beauty of [Spider-Man Editor] Steve Wacker. Steve and [Executive Editor] Tom Brevoort reached out to Mark, and I’ve always been a fan of his work.
