If you were expecting to sit in front of your television this Saturday with your jammies on, munching a bowl of super-sugar-snaps, while watching the brand new Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon, you might want to sleep in. Marvel and Sony have announced they will be bumping the show from its March 1 debut to March 8. While it may sound like a bad thing, come next weekend, you’ll be able to watch a full hour of The Spectacular Spider-Man as two shows will air back-to-back beginning at 10AM EST. The big question on everyone’s mind is, “What happens after this season?”…

It’s being reported that young thespian Freddie Highmore will be providing the voice of Astro Boy in the upcoming CGI movie. Set in futuristic Metro City, Imagi’s “Astro Boy” tells the story of a young robot created by a scientist to replace the son he lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving father’s expectations, Astro Boy embarks on a journey of discovery before he returns to save Metro City and reconcile with his creator. If you aren’t familiar with Highmore, you might want to head down to your local theater and check out the Spiderwick Chronicles. I’ve had a love/hate relationship…

Yes, I will be seeing this. Regardless of what the mass audience thinks, I didn’t hate everything that happened in the first three movies (except for young Anakin, Jar-Jar Binks, the pod race – well pretty much everything except the fight scenes in the first movie), and I did get a kick out of the Clone Wars animated series. The trailer looks hot, let’s hope Lucas doesn’t screw this one up.

My good friend Bryan is probably jumping up and down over the announcement that the 90’s television series Duckman is heading to DVD. I remember Bryan staying up late night to catch the show on his antiquated VHS machine, instead of going out and getting drunk with his fellow men. No definitive release date has been announced (sometime in 2008), but it has been suggested the first collection will include the first two seasons of the show (22 episodes in total). The series consists of 70 episodes that aired right before USA’s Up All Night on Saturday nights from 1994…

The CW has announced it will shut down the Kids’ WB! franchise a the end of the season and turn everything over to 4Kids Entertainment. Under the five-year pact, 4Kids will program five hours of children’s programming between 7 a.m. and noon on Saturdays on the CW starting September 2008. 4Kids will handle all national commercial advertising, and will share in ad revenue with the CW. The CW’s share will be applied against a guarantee 4Kids will pay the net. One of the biggest reasons for the drop? It’s too hard to compete with 24-hour cable networks, and selling advertising…

Rumors are flying fast and furious over the Justice League of America movie. We’ve had reports that the Big Seven would be featured in the film, but that was followed up a few days later with info that neither Brandon Routh nor Christian Bale would be involved in the project. So what gives? IESB has been trying to put all the pieces together and has come up with a possible answer – The Justice League of America movie will be an all CGI affair. This explains why Happy Feet director George Miller is set to direct the piece. This would put…
