Blockquote vs. Indent

    If you are quoting something that is over 40 words in length, you should use a block quote. That being said, block quotes also need to be indented. Unfortunately, the block quote feature (the single-quote mark in the top row of the Visual tab in WordPress) does not render correctly on the site, and no amount of fussing with CSS makes it look any better.

    Instead, please use the Increase Indent option.
    Simply highlight the text and then click the Increase Indent button twice. This will give it the proper offset to indicate it is coming from an extended quote.

    EXAMPLE

    Original text:
    “It’s a true honor to be working with the good people at Skybound again and an ever greater one that they’re willing to let me dip my toes into horror,” said Starks. “You may all know me best as a comedy writer—twice nominated for the Eisner for Best Humor Publication—but comedy and horror are similar beasts. They both rely on tone, set up and pacing. If you enjoyed my comedy works, I think you’ll really love this adventure.”

    Blockquote problem:

    “It’s a true honor to be working with the good people at Skybound again and an ever greater one that they’re willing to let me dip my toes into horror,” said Starks. “You may all know me best as a comedy writer—twice nominated for the Eisner for Best Humor Publication—but comedy and horror are similar beasts. They both rely on tone, set up and pacing. If you enjoyed my comedy works, I think you’ll really love this adventure.”

    Indent better:
