Did I really. Say the first appearance of Batman was in 1927? I must have mashed up 1939’s Detective Comics #27 together ….
Yeah, I didn’t catch that either…
Reallty? I thought the first appearance of Batman was 1997’s Batman and Robin
Reallty? I thought the first appearance of Batman was 1997′s Batman and Robin
AND THAT, SIR, IS WHY YOU SHALL FALL!
Or not, whichever…
It was Todd Casey, and Jake Black who wrote the episode.
I just re-watch the episode, and sorry to say but ollie does have 2 arms in the graveyard scene
I don’t understand where all the love for this show comes from. I’m glad you guys like it but after watching the few episodes I’ve seen and listening to the break down of this episode, I’ve seen more things I didn’t like than do like. I hope it ends well for you but I’ll be glad when it’s gone.
You don’t like it because it doesn’t fit within your understanding of Batman continuity, or something else? When the show was first announced, I didn’t think I would care for it at all, but when the three year old started watching it again and again, I saw the subtle homage to all of Batman continuity that actually makes the show enjoyable for those who are Batman aficionados and those of the younger age who may not who the heck Batman or any of the supporting cast are. Then again, with a few exceptions the B:TAS and Batman Beyond didn’t follow comic book continuity either…
Off the bat (no pun intended), I never liked the art work or voice talent. It seemed to me like a step backwards in quality all around. (It wasn’t even latteral for me like The Batman was.) I had the incredible misfortune to see the episode with Aquaman, The Atom and Chemo as my first. I absolutely can’t tolerate Aquaman. He’s so damn annoyingly bad.
I think one of the other things that bothers me is that there is no linearity to their story telling. Even with their references they grab from all over the boards and just throw it in there. I think that’s the word exactly … thrown. It feels thrown together. No planning. That bugs me.
But then again, this show was made for a much younger audience than I am.
hey guys, my good friend Tom Perkins sent me a link to this episode.
I’m glad you liked the “Knights of Tomorrow” episode. like most B:TB&tB episodes, a lot of thought, care and sweat went in to making it. in reference to the possible Batman Beyond nod, if you notice earlier in the episode, Gotham’s colors were what we usually paint them. as the episode goes on however, the green window lights of the buildings are gradually replaced by the blue window light color from Batman Beyond. by the time we see Rob and Don in front of the bank, the backgrounds were supposed to be painted like Batman Beyond, but overseas didn’t use the keys that were sent for those scenes for some reason. by the time we got the footage back, it was too late and too costly to change it (oh well, maybe next time).
btw, B:TB&tB will have a 3rd season of 13 episodes bringing the final episode count to 65, which is a pretty good run these days.
anyway, thanks for watching.
