Today, my wife returned from work with packages of funnel cakes, left over from a party in her office to celebrate the completion of a big project. They apparently set up arcade games in the lounges, provided music and food and entertainment, and somehow, she though the whole thing was terrible. Where she saw only the worst parts of each place combined, I tend to be more of a glass-half-full guy, and also, arcade games sound like a great idea. A party at work, in my eyes, is better than no party at all, leading us to today’s celebratory query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) can’t fault anything that means more funnel cakes, asking: Is a party at work the perfect combination or a terrible idea?

Lol what’s funny is we are having a work thing today, I like it, there is usually food and since I’m security, I get to duck out at any time
I enjoy an occasional big work party. We have an annual holiday celebration with food and games and contests, which is fun. However, if it were much more frequent, I would just become annoyed with it. Except for maybe the desserts…
No, thank you. My introverted, socially anxious self is just fine to stay at my desk. Thankfully, the unit I am in now is full of people as isolated as myself, so this doesn’t happen anymore. The department I was in previous to this loved to have celebrations and it was exhausting!
