Oni Press announced that Jordan Thomas and Daniel Gete’s Skin Police series is returning for a new arc in Skin Police 2, an all-new jumping-on point for readers.
Agents Eckis and Sheen swore an oath to protect the civilian population from the eminent danger of the rogue black market clones known as “Dupes” that can suddenly “pop” without any advance warning—which means any passerby on the street or subway could possibly become an unhinged spree killer on a moment’s notice. In return for their service, however, the public has dubbed Eckis, Sheen, and their fellow agents the “Skin Police”—an insult handed back by a populace unwilling to sacrifice their own civil rights for the agents’ unprecedented duties in light of the Dupe threat. But what if these illegally manufactured clone doppelgängers weren’t as deadly as initially believed? What if they could be saved? And, as the underground resistance movement supporting them grows, what if their leader proved to be someone uncomfortably familiar to the Skin Police?
“We spent the first four issues presenting a character in Eckis who is sure of himself and certain of the need for the violent and deadly acts he commits and then slowly chipping away at that,” said writer Jordan Thomas in a press release from Oni Press. “In this second volume we’re going to take dynamite to the whole belief system Eckis has built himself around and present him and our other major characters with some incredibly tough choices with stakes that couldn’t be any higher. This will definitely be psychological in a lot of ways, but like with our first arc, this second set of four issues is going to also be packed with incredible action brought to life by my co-author Daniel Gete, one of the best visceral artists in comics right now.”
Skin Police 2 is a four-issue mini-series that kicks off on September 3, 2025.
