Syzygy Publishing and Image Comics announced the upcoming release of Dread the Hall H, a horror anthology that looks at convention culture.
This terrifying, hilarious, and all-too-relatable convention horror anthology boasts a powerhouse lineup of artists—including Nelson Dániel (Dying is Easy), Piotr Kowalski (Creepshow), Jimmy Kucaj (Come Find Me), and Chris Anderson (Heavy Metal). In this extended issue, readers are thrust into the deepest, darkest corners of convention culture—where fandom reaches feverish extremes. From the desperate overnight line camps where die-hard fans trade sleep for a chance at all the gory glory, to the ruthless frenzy of exclusive merch hunts, to the shadowy forces controlling the ultimate backstage access, no part of the con is safe. And at the heart of it all lies the most infamous room in history… Hall H, where the real horrors wait in the dark.
“The comic conventions I attended as a kid were in the cigarette-hazed party rooms of Milwaukee’s bowling alleys,” said co-creator and writer Jordan Hart in a press release. “When I finally made it to San Diego as an attendee shortly after college, it felt like Valhalla. Comics. Movies. Toys. Video Games. Exclusives. Treasure Hunts. Obstacle Courses. There are endless things to do at these big, multi-day conventions. So, it wasn’t hard for us to work horror and satire into a few of them like Hollywood Q&As, overnight line camping, backstage access, and exclusive item chasing.”
Dread the Hall H arrives on July 23, 2025.
