In Boxed, a new original graphic novel from Mad Cave Studios, we face our deepest digital fears when AI becomes too intimate.
Boxed is written by Mark Sable, with art by Jeremy Haun.
A government operative tasked with quarantining or “boxing” sentient A.I. is forced to team up with his ex—an A.I. designed to seduce him—in order to take down an even greater threat: an A.I. who has taken over the Center for Disease Control.
“Boxed is a story that Jeremy Haun and I have been dying to tell,” said writer Mark Sable in a. press release. “It’s a near-future AI thriller—we pitched it as Blade Runner meets Silence of the Lambs—that was inspired by my work as a futurist consulting for the military and intelligence community. With each passing day, our reality creeps closer and closer to an AI dystopia, and I’m hoping this story serves not just as a thrill ride but as a wakeup call to the threat AI poses to our way of life. In this brave new world, physical media is the only way for fans to own art created by and for humans truly, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that Mad Cave is publishing it.”
Boxed is scheduled to arrive on September 09, 2025.
