BUSINESS: Magma Comix inks distribution deal with Diamond Book Distributors

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseJanuary 29, 20242 Mins Read

    PRESS RELEASE

Magma Comix is excited to announce its partnership with Diamond Book Distributors (DBD) to distribute their products to North American and international book markets.

Magma Comix was founded in 2020 by industry veteran Denton J. Tipton (IDW Publishing, Opus Comics) with the vision to create extraordinary stories that move and entertain mature audiences across the globe. Since releasing their first titles in partnership with the legendary Heavy Metal Magazine, the company has grown into an independent publisher committed to empowering comic book creators with the freedom and support necessary to bring their 100% creator-owned passion projects to life.

“My direct connection to Diamond goes back nearly 25 years, when my partner and I started a comic shop funded largely by student loans and Magic cards,” said Magma Comix CEO, Denton Tipton. “Times have changed, but one thing that hasn’t is our shared love of the comics medium. We look forward to working with Caitlin, Emily, Matt and the entire team to bring Magma Comix to a global audience.”

“We’re thrilled to sign Magma Comix to our list of vendors,” said Tim Lenaghan, Chief Purchasing Officer for Geppi Family Enterprises. “Their publishing program promises to introduce great new content to the marketplace and we look forward to working with them for years to come.”

Diamond Book Distributors (DBD) is a division of Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc., and is dedicated to making a wide selection of its graphic novels and other pop-culture merchandise available to bookstores, libraries, schools, mass merchants and more worldwide. Based in Hunt Valley, MD, our team of professionals is committed to helping DBD’s client publishers tell their stories, grow their businesses and reach new customers. We work to provide insight at every stage of the publishing process—from initial concept, to marketing, sales and distribution.

Magma Comix will start its rollout of forthcoming titles, including Silicon Bandits (Jason Starr, Dalibor Talajić) and Principles of Necromancy (Jackson Lanzing & Collin Kelly, Eamon Winkle) this summer.
