Magneto is dead, and Arakko must fill in the empty seats of the Great Ring. Check out the results of the epic battle between Arakko and Uranos in X-Men Red #7 by Marvel Comics!

    X-MEN RED #7

    Release Date: October 5th, 2022

Previously in X-Men Red: After the events of A.X.E.: Judgement Day #5, Magneto and Storm fought against Uranos. But Magneto was gravely injured and on the brink of death. After the war with the Eternals, Isca the Unbeaten has been asked to step down from the Seat of Victory after she murdered Idyll. But because her power is never to lose, will she step down quietly?

    A NEW TOMORROW

X-Men Red #7 starts with a dramatic moment of Storm saying goodbye to Magneto. Magneto asks Storm to keep an eye on Charles and ensure he doesn’t do something terrible. Meanwhile, at the Great Ring, the Council looks at the death and destruction and acknowledges Isca’s betrayal. Storm makes it clear that no one in the Great Ring is afraid to die, even if they know they can’t win. Fisher King challenges Isca to a contest; the one who wins genuinely understands the meaning of loss. Now experiencing a loss (and winning the contest), Isca resigns.

Storm then relinquishes her seat as Regent of Arakko and instead takes the Seat of Loss. She then names Lodus Logos to take the Regent seat. Meanwhile, Cable and Wiz-Kid discover interesting information involving the truth about Brand.

    AN INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT

I’m not following the main A.X.E. title closely. I was surprised that the fight teased in X-Men Red #6 happened in that book, not this one. In a way, I missed the climax, which made this book feel a little out of place. On top of that, X-Men Red has been setting up Storm as this great leader of Arakko. Watching her step down as Regent feels a little out of place. They say you want to keep your promises to your readers in fiction. I thought I was promised Storm to be a leader, but that promise was not fulfilled. At this point, I am unsure what direction the creative team will take for the comic.

However, I thought the idea that Fisher King defeated Isca was pretty neat. And I’m interested to see what Lodus Logos does as Regent.

Lastly, X-Men Red #7 has stunning art, especially for the death of Magneto and Storm holding him. I was shocked by the details and impressed with the art, colors, and impeccable linework.

    BOTTOM LINE: GOOD WORK

I’m on the fence about what I think about the direction of X-Men Red. I don’t know what is going to happen next issue. Despite that, the creative team has a vision, and I’ll be interested to see what they do with Storm and the rest of the Great Ring. 4 out of 5 stars for X-Men #7.

    Good Work

X-Men Red #7 took an unexpected direction for Storm but allowed an excellent farewell for Magneto.
